Plastic bottled drinking water contributes a substantial amount of our recyclable solid waste. By switching from bottled water to tap water, we reduce our waste stream without even having to recycle.
This is a win-win for the consumer. Kauai has high quality drinking water. It will save hard working families unnecessary expenses, and avoid the uncertainty of container and content contaminants in their water.
course of Action
- Action will be better served by forming a coalition to address promote this. ZWK, county Solid Waste, Hawaii Visitor’s Bureau, Kauai Climate Action Coalition, Surfrider Foundation and Sierra Club are potential partners.
